Heard From God Lately?

When was the last time you heard from God? Did you REALLY connect with Him enough that you thought you definitely heard a Word from Him? We are really good at "thinking" that we have a Word from God. And I'm very good at telling someone about what God is "telling" me. But, did He really tell me, or did I jump the gun once again and "suppose" that He told me? Are we walking so closely in Spirit and Truth that we actually hear Him speaking? I'm convicted that it requires much time communing with Him....and I fail miserably at this. Communing in Spirit and Truth. Now that's a new concept for most of us in our busy lives isn't it? Today is a great day to begin true communion in the Presence of our Father God! I'm "up" for it..what about you? "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth, he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth." Isaiah 53: 6-7 Now, THAT, deserves some communion time!

Knowing God

I'm thinking a lot these days about how well I "know" God. I wonder how much time we truly put into "knowing" God. I don't mean bible study and works. I mean truly "knowing" Him like we know those in our life who we love truly. I guess it requires much "one on One" action, which requires much conversation with the One whom we want to "know"! I guess that it requires much desire to love Him more than all the others that we "know" and love. Can you imagine "knowing" Him so well that the joy overflows until the tears flow uncontrollably?? Oh...to know Him this well! I long to know Him more and more...what about you? John 17:25 "Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you....."

What's Up With This Blogging Stuff?

Don't ask me why I'm taking time to do this except the thought just kept coming to me..."why don't you begin a blog?" What a cool way to converse with your friends and chat about some really neat things...like "Jesus"!! How fantastic would it be to encourage one another by blogging a heartfelt message. I think it's a wonderful way to share our experiences, but more than that...to share our love for Jesus with one another. So here goes....I've been in a Beth Moore bible study for several months on the Book of Daniel. Many times it has been quite overwhelming, but more often, it has been sooooo good for my heart and soul. My favorite chapters throughout have been Chapters 9 and 10. I love the "mind set" that Daniel carried throughout his life beginning when he was just a young man. And in these chapters he once again shows such determination as he prays for the nations. He falls on his face in weakness and petitions Almighty God on behalf of all people....then and now! Oh how I want to be like Daniel. To hold that "mind set" in place as I honor my God and Saviour! What about you?
