I heard Joyce Meyer say the coolest thing this morning regarding our character. She said our character is proven by how we "honor people who can't do a thing for us." How very true is that? When someone is not going to help us in any way or do anything for us....how do we honor them? Why do we find it much easier to honor those that we feel are going to help us "shine"? And isn't godly character all about humility and humbleness? We should think about that the next time we sit down in a restaurant and we treat the waitress less than or we don't give our grocery bagger the time of day. We should honor all people that Christ puts in our way every day!
“Ye Did It Unto The Least Of These….”
We’re in a world so busy
People running everywhere.
Forever looking at our watches
Our minds racing with cares.
We never see that lonely man
Sitting on the street.
We don’t even notice that hungry lady
Struggling in the heat.
Children so needy
Filled with despair.
An old grandma rocking sadly
And no one cares.
Then we remember
Jesus left us with a plea…
“Ye did unto the least of these
my brethren, ye did it unto me.”
So what about you?
What about me?
What about the lonely man
Sitting on the street?
Will you reach out
Without a shadow of doubt?
Will you love the least of these
And fulfill Jesus’ plea?
A smile for the lonely man sitting on the street.
A bit of food for the hungry lady struggling in the heat.
A hug for the children so full of despair.
A cheery voice for the old Grandma in the rocking chair.
This seems so simple
Such an easy thing to do.
Let’s reach out for the least of these
And for Jesus too.

Wow! My first blog comment--not really sure what it means but am grateful for the fellowship it will bring! I must say I am tested a lot with godly character when it comes to family. I just spent a week with my mother, sisters, and niece and nephew at the beach and they certainly can tell if you have the fruit of the spirit, ha ha! I am praising God for the opportunities He gives us to witness for Him in our daily lives. I also returned from France a few days fo heading to the beach and was able to witness to a Muslim lady and also to a wife of a schoolmate of Bert's who practices in France where a meeting was held! Halleluiah praise the Lord! Also, a few minutes ago someone knocked on my front door desiring business and I almost didn't answer but felt like I should and rely on the Lord for protection. Lo and behold I preached the gospel and even though He didn't accept God's free gift right then, he asked questions and I will mail him information since he left me his card! I am now off to the Lodge for 4th of July and Suzanne and the kids will be here for 2 weeks! I still continue to pray for the salvation of my brother-in-law and Geneva. I am holding on to God's promises! I love you sister, and this is a great idea! Love, Lindy-loo :)
